Bedroom At Arles - Vincent Van Gogh - 1889

This is one my all time favourite paintings due to there been so much to talk about. However i'm going to concentrate on the perspective. Van Gogh has clearly played around the perspective resulting in the image having the impression of movement.
In the image we can see two chairs. One is in the foreground and the other in the background. However the one in teh background is what appears to be a lot smaller than the other. By doing this Van Gogh has been able to create depth within the image. This is also the case with the bed. The end of it is it huge compared to the other end, resulting in the bed looking very long.
I would argue that the bed was key focal point in this image as the red colour stands out from a pale blue room. Alongside this it appears the walls are leaning in towards the bed and so are the paintings and chairs, emphasisng the bed more.
